What Are Your Plans For The Next Two Months?

Now that we have stepped into the eleventh month on the Gregorian calender, and are in the middle of the final quarter of the year, it is almost natural for visionaries to think about goals and visions.

Normally, the world makes resolutions at the head of the new year, in January, but it is helpful to begin thinking about changes you would like to implement in the certain areas of life, nearing the close of the year.

Though we are approaching the end of the year, it is actually the head of the year on the Hebraic calendar which started last month. So a new year has already begun on God’s calendar. We are at the beginning of something fresh and different.

So goal setting around this time makes a lot of sense. There are so many benefits to writing down some near and future plans for different areas of life. It helps to record these things to aid with focus and accountability.

Think of some things you would like to accomplish by the end of the (Gregorian) year as well as things you want to stop doing before the year closes out.

By writing them down, this will allow you to have a clearer picture of where you are and where you would like to be—vision. It is important to have a vision for yourself, both personally and professionally.

We do ourselves a grave injustice if we just go where the wind takes us without having a clear picture of what we want to accomplish both long and short term.

God wants us to have a vision for our lives.

Having a vision is essential and beneficial to us both spiritually and naturally and we see this all over the Bible. Did you know that God has a vision for each of us?

There are several places in the Bible that talk about this, Jeremiah 29:11 talks about the plans God has for us and that they are good. This means He has a vision for our lives, as He planned out every detail about us in advance.

We too should plan ahead. It will help guide and funnel our activities and keep us in step with our desired destinations. Of course we must first seek God and let Him order our steps.

As you enter the last stretch of the year, ask yourself, where do I see myself six and twelve months from now? How about two and five years from today? Where would you like to be? Who would you like to be? What would you like to be doing? Why do you want to do it? How will you get there?

Part of writing a vision for yourself involves goal-setting. For example, if you want to have a healthy body, you have to a) change your diet and b) incorporate regular exercise.

Some goals could be to exercise four days a week and to cut out rice, bread, fries, and other simple carbs for the next two weeks. Achieving these two goals will help you realize a healthier body.

So as you begin this new month, I hope you will consider writing out a vision for yourself. You don’t have to do everything at once; divide and conquer. Begin with one thing and build from there.

The vision your heavenly father has for you is all good and grand. Follow His lead as you craft your own life’s vision.

Happy planning!
