We are free beings, completely free to make our own decisions. But never forget that our choices do matter. It matters for us now, for our future, for those around us, and for those coming up after us.
Deuteronomy 30:19 I take the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you today that I have put life and death before you, the blessing and the curse; and you must choose life so that you may live, you and your descendants,
According to scripture the choices we make can have lasting effects. So no matter what our background or how long ago it took place, every decision has a meandering or direct consequence. With a culture that preaches self-indulgence and instant gratification, it can be so easy to fall into the trap of acting before thinking.

Remember that the resolutions you make today are creating paths for your tomorrow. It behooves us to make choices (great or small) with stable emotions and a clear mind. But most importantly, each decision need to be made with the leadership of The Holy Spirit. Fellowshipping with Him in prayer and throughout the day will help you recognize His voice and know His character.
Consistently studying scripture also helps to make God-centered choices for your life. God would never tell you to do something that goes against His word. For He is not the author of disorder or confusion.
1 Corinthians 14:33 For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace.
Make wise choices today, and if you mess up, you are never condemned. Forgive yourself and learn from the experience. Don’t forget to always be led by His Spirit.
May The Holy Spirit provide clarity as you choose today.
